Why I’m Committing to 100 Podcast Episodes Before Checking the Metrics
Podcasting has never been more accessible, and with over 76,000 episodes uploaded every three days, the space feels crowded. But that’s not a reason to shy away. In fact, it’s why I’m committed to creating 100 episodes before I even begin to look at metrics like download numbers or subscribers.
This decision came from a simple realization: podcasting is a long game. It’s not about immediate success; it’s about consistency and providing value. The odds are steep—only 6.73% of podcasts make it past 50 episodes—but I’m here for the journey, not the quick wins.
The Noise in the Podcasting Space
The overwhelming volume of content can feel intimidating. Imagine walking into a room of 25,000 people all talking at once. This is the reality of podcasting today. But amidst the noise, there’s an opportunity: listeners want real, authentic stories.
Why 100 Episodes?
Committing to 100 episodes gives me the freedom to focus on creating meaningful content, rather than chasing immediate results. According to the stats only around 11% of podcasters reach the 50 episode milestone, but I’m taking a different approach. I believe that by the time I reach that 100-episode mark, I’ll have built something that resonates with a dedicated audience.
Documenting the Process
The Podcaster’s Journey is an open journal of my own experiences—sharing the wins, the challenges, and the lessons learned. This isn’t just about my journey; it’s a roadmap for others who want to break into the podcasting world and succeed by staying true to their own voice.
I invite you to join me for this journey!
